WHAT IS PRP (PLATELET-RICH PLASMA)?

ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

The treatment is known as the Gold Touch facial and involves the use of a small hand-held vial with a screw top lid that houses very fine spirals of gold fashioned needles that are as thin as a strand of hair. A customised combination of products is placed in the vial and the lid screwed back on. The fluid then travels down the hollow needles, and delivers the solution into the layer of the skin where it most counts.

While the treatment appears to be very simple, do not be fooled. It is the technological advancement of the product delivery design that allows us to perform an incredibly powerful treatment in only a short period of time.

Applying anti-ageing products directly under the skin allows them to be absorbed much more effectively and with a much longer duration of effectiveness because these products do not have to bypass the natural protective barrier of the skin. Deeper penetration of these active ingredients results in a more healthy and vibrant appearance of the skin.

PROCEDURE

The procedure is performed under topical anaesthesia either as a standalone treatment in the rooms or combined with other aesthetic surgical procedures. The skin of the face is cleansed, and the chosen ingredients are placed in the sterile tube of the Dermastamp microneedling device. It is then pressed into the skin in an overlapping pattern. Drugs and products are being delivered into the skin, not on it or underneath it. The device works with 20 tiny, precisely spaced needles delivering product into the skin at the ideal depth of 600 microns. The hollow needles hold the product. The needles sit on a platform, and are smaller than a human hair. The needles are inserted into the skin and then pulled back out, leaving the product behind. This creates a soft, natural-looking result, leaving the face looking smoother, tighter, and rejuvenated. The microneedles stimulate cellular renewal in the upper layer of the skin through gentle needling, while the solution is dispersed into the dermis to enhance results.

RECOVERY

There is little down time after the procedure. There may some redness for a few days, but usually no bruising. The only restriction after the procedure is that you can’t wash your face for four hours. Patients observe an immediate improvement on their faces, necks, or décolletage for several months. This procedure can be repeated every 6 weeks for another two sessions to get accumulative improvement, then every 6 months.
